Business Data Analyst (Graduate Placement 6 months)

This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate candidate to make a big difference as part of a small friendly team within a rapidly growing organization. No previous regulatory experience is required as full training will be provided however we are seeking a candidate who is willing to learn new skills, produces work with a high level of accuracy and has strong attention to detail.

The Compliance Analyst is responsible for supporting the Compliance function in delivering our quality control monitoring and assurance program. You will learn how to measure process effectiveness, further develop your analytical skills and increase your awareness of how Financial Services regulation impacts commercial operations in the Asset Finance industry. You will also be allocated tasks arising from compliance projects such as development of the Data Privacy, Anti-Money Laundering and Fraud Prevention, Consumer Protection frameworks and responding to day to day helpdesk requests from the business. The skills and knowledge acquired as part of this Placement will support development into a wide range of future career prospects including project management, business data analytics, fraud prevention, financial crime prevention and auditing quality control.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the team in relation to establishing and maintaining effective systems and controls for compliance with applicable requirements and standards under the regulatory system
  • Undertake on-the-job learning to build an understanding of applicable laws, regulations, rules and standards including writing up summaries as required
  • Undertake compliance monitoring activity
  • Supporting the provision of regulatory advice to business areas, through the Compliance Helpdesk
  • Log breaches and provide supporting management information
  • Review and report on compliance training completion logs
  • Also required to assist the Head of Compliance and Compliance Officer with other tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or graduate seeking mid-course placement)
  • GCSE Maths, English and IT grades A-C
  • Experience of using Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint
  • Conscientious, punctual and able to work under own initiative once training provided

Working Hours/Duration/Salary

Full Time – 35 hours a week 9am to 5pm (one hour for lunch)

Fixed Term (6 month placement starting Oct 2019) please note you must be able to commit to the full 6 month placement
