Underwriter / Credit Analyst

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed Vendor Reviews and make recommendations for future relationship parameters
  • Access portfolio information on Vendor / Sector / Equipment basis and make recommendations on Risk parameters going forward
  • Manage Credit alerts for end users and Vendors
  • Undertake ad hoc analysis to help shape Credit Appetite and Policy
  • Assess new business proposals from a Credit Risk perspective as to whether they meet HHF
  • Credit Risk appetite and fit within Credit Policy
  • Document and decision deals within own personal credit underwriting mandate, with clear rationale so that a third party can understand the logic behind the decision
  • Make recommendations with supporting substantiated rationale on deals outside of own personal credit underwriting mandate
  • Communicate credit decisions and requirements in a clear and concise manner to other parts of the business
  • Assist with the ongoing monitoring of the existing portfolio by periodic reviews of existing larger exposures as defined by Credit Policy
  • Assist with the ongoing monitoring of the existing portfolio by reviews of existing larger Supplier/Vendor relationships as defined by Credit Policy
  • Act as a point of contact for reviewing potential fraudulent proposals and where necessary liaise with other funders and CIFAS
  • Assist with the communication of Credit processes and requirements throughout the business to help the understanding of Credit across HHF
  • Keep up to date with UK news to understand any implications this may have upon credit decisioning and risks to HHF


  • GCSE Maths and English grades A-C (or equivalent)
  • Basic Microsoft Office experience but intermediate Excel skills including use of pivot tables
  • Proven analytical skills with ability to document findings and make recommendations
  • Demonstrable ability to think around a subject, considering risk implications of our current Policies and Procedures
